F.B.I. Agent’s Warning
Coulter Watt letter on March 6 article supports issues raised by FBI agent Coleen Rowley in letter to director Robert Mueller; holds Americans would fully support war against Iraq if Bush administration showed proof of connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq

To the Editor:
Re "Agent Who Saw 9/11 Lapses Still Faults F.B.I. on Terror" (front page, March 6):
Special Agent Coleen Rowley raises many troubling issues in her letter to the F.B.I. director, Robert S. Mueller III, about our pursuit of terrorists and protecting the United States from future attacks. She strikes a clear note among the cacophony of rhetoric from Washington.
Ms. Rowley points out the importance of our relationship with France and Germany for sharing information and aiding in the pursuit and apprehension of terrorists. If the Bush administration damages our relations with these allies over the war with Iraq, we may lose the cooperation of two essential friends in the war on terrorism.
The war on terrorism should be our first priority.
Ms. Rowley also points out that the administration has not connected the dots between Al Qaeda and Iraq. If the administration showed proof of that connection, I think that the American people would fully support a war against Iraq, as would the Turks, the French, the Germans and the Russians.
